An interesting panel at Capacity Middle East 2025 explored the current gaming boom in the Middle East - a region undergoing a remarkable transformation and emerging as a significant hub for both gaming and e-sports. Countries like Saudi Arabia are leading this shift, investing heavily to position themselves at the forefront of the global gaming arena, while the broader Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is also witnessing substantial growth in the gaming sector.
As the gaming industry in the Middle East expands, the need for robust, low-latency network infrastructure becomes increasingly critical. EXA Infrastructure plays a key role in this landscape by providing high-capacity fibre optic networks tailored to the needs of cloud, content, and tech industries.
In January 2025, EXA Infrastructure reinforced its commitment to enhancing regional connectivity by signing a strategic cooperation agreement with SOCAR Fiber, a subsidiary of SOCAR Türkiye. This partnership strengthens Türkiye’s digital infrastructure on a global scale, positioning the country as a pivotal data transit route between Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. In a second phase, EXA Infrastructure will extend its presence to connect the Iraqi border and provide diversity for Middle Eastern traffic avoiding the traditional Red Sea route.
Coupled with our previous investments into Trans Adriatic Express and the Balkan region this delivers the most modern and reliable fibre optic infrastructure connecting the Asian and European continents.
EXA Infrastructure’s Services for the Gaming Ecosystem
- Bespoke Network Expansion & Upgrades – our engineers and deploys high fibre-count routes using cutting-edge G.652 fibre, enabling vast data traffic between data centers across Europe, Eastern North America, and transatlantic regions. This infrastructure is essential for delivering high-quality cloud services that power gaming platforms.
- High-Performance Connection to the Edge – With the rise of distributed and edge computing, our network efficiently moves workloads and data from core locations to edge sites, reducing latency and enhancing user experiences—a critical factor for real-time gaming applications.
- Rapidly Scaling Cloud Infrastructure – our extensive network and numerous Points of Presence (PoP) sites provide high-grade colocation facilities, allowing gaming companies to deliver services seamlessly from both core and edge cloud sites, extending reach and improving service delivery.
By offering tailored infrastructure solutions and expanding the region’s digital capabilities, EXA Infrastructure ensures that gaming companies have access to the high-performance, low-latency networks required to deliver seamless, immersive gaming experiences. This strategic expansion not only fuels the gaming boom but also reinforces EXA’s role in driving the region’s digital transformation.
